Fables in Focus: Disney Characters and Object Associations

This series of paintings reinterprets iconic Disney characters from recent live-action remakes, offering a visual exploration of object association—the connections between objects and aspects of identity, culture, and personal history. Using a combination of oil, acrylic, and spray paints, each character is portrayed on three-dimensional mixed media objects that reflect their distinct personalities, narratives, and emotional depth. This approach explores how these characters and their associated objects influence our perceptions and relationships with the world, in an attempt to deepen our understanding of their stories. Through this work, I hope to bridge Disney into the fine arts realm, to have a conversation about how films and characters shape our everyday experiences.
