Brilliant, Bad, & a Little Bit Mad
$10,000.00 USD
This mixed media painting serves as a tribute to Disney's Cruella, exploring the character's duality through the juxtaposition of pet-related objects—such as food, collars, and toys—with fashion elements like clothes and shoes. This contrast emphasizes Cruella's obsession with luxury and fur, reflecting the moral conflict between her pursuit of beauty and disregard for compassion. The work examines how Cruella embodies both rebellion and the darker aspects of high society, blending innocence and fierceness in her quest for power and identity. Painting no. 4 of my "Fables in Focus: Disney Characters and Object Associations" series.

Exalted
$4,000.00 USD
Exalted discusses the various struggles that people with curvaceous figures endure in today's world. Through the use of the Victoria Secret brand, the work calls attention to the fashion industry's lack of size variety and representation of naturally curvy bodies. Exalted also takes aim at entertainment culture, arguing that it fails to adequately empower, sexualize, or romanticize plus-size women. In the past, fuller figures were revered and admired, much like Greek and Roman art and culture. And yet, these days, they are looked down upon, judged for their weight, and scrutinized from all angles; this is related to the statement "Once We Were Exalted." This artwork is intended to recognize plus-sized figures. This body type is no different than the skinny one scene in a tabloid or storefront. Because curvaceous bodies are just as attractive and desirable as straight ones, society must make room for the truth to flourish.

Looks that Kill
$2,000.00 USD
Using 5,671 nails, "Looks that Kills" reflects Pradera's fiery, passionate, and fearless nature as well as her soft, vivid, and empathetic self. Instead of applying nails in the typical manner, she imaginatively turned each nail on its head to create a painting that resembles a contour line drawing. The location and accuracy of Pradera's nails enable shadows from various light sources to produce value and complete the composition. Because each location and light source where her art is shown is unique, her strategic decisions allow her work to have a transforming and shifting appearance.
