Looks that Kill

Using 5,671 nails, "Looks that Kills" reflects Pradera's fiery, passionate, and fearless nature as well as her soft, vivid, and empathetic self. Instead of applying nails in the typical manner, she imaginatively turned each nail on its head to create a painting that resembles a contour line drawing. The location and accuracy of Pradera's nails enable shadows from various light sources to produce value and complete the composition. Because each location and light source where her art is shown is unique, her strategic decisions allow her work to have a transforming and shifting appearance.
