Wife of Man

Drawing inspiration from René Magritte's 1946 picture Son of Man, this appropriation focuses on the difficulties women face in trying to be the "perfect wife." The work examines the expectations and assumptions that society places on women in areas of life such as in the workplace, relationships, homes, and families by using everyday household items like rice, beans, and cleaning products.
