Pain: The Series

During Pradera's senior year at the Academy of the Holy Names, she was enrolled in the Portfolio Honors art course. In the course she was tasked to create an art series of her choosing. From January - April of 2021, she produced Pain: The Series. The series consists of three mixed media works all reflecting the traumas Pradera faced in relation to her gastrointestinal health during my high school career. This collection of work is significant to her personal story as it shares of the great challenges she faced during the transitional period of her life, mentally and physically, into adulthood. With the production of this series, she hopes to call attention to the poor healthcare system in today's world, but also pay homage to the individualized "lows" experienced that shaped her into the woman she is in the present.
